There is a festival that is called 'Shinshu Matsumoto Soba Matsuri'

 The festival is held once every year around the beginning of October.

 

Around Matsumoto is famous for Soba (Japanese noodle prepared with buckwheat flour ).

 

 

Soooooo, I went to the festival to EAT Soba and more stuff :P

 

 

It was a lovely mild autumn weather so I decided to go for a walk to get the festival.

The sky was light bule and the Sun was soft. I enjoyed a walk while feeling an autumn season.

 

The Soba festival was crowded crazily... It's hard to walk in streets, bit stressful :P

 

Anyway!

As a breakfast, I had 2 Oyaki, (inside was pickled vegies and fried leeks) and something :P< Can't remember.

(a femented buckwheat dough wrapped around a stuffing of Japanese vegetables,

fruit, or anko bean paste etc etc and then roasted on an iron pan.)

Inside was azuki bean paste.

 

 

 

After the exercise of the stomach of breakfast,

I visited a Soba shop and waited for 20 minutes , holding a glass of local beer.

 

 

I dicided to eat yamagata village's soba where is from karasawa soba small rural village.

 

 

I ordered rough soba (500yen). The soba was a bit chewy like sticky rice and

you can feel smooth and a bit rough feeling in your throat.

It was wonderful. I love it very much!

one thing was not good, it wasn't a long noodle, it's a bit short.

I'll give 4 stars ★★★★☆ to the shop.

 

 

There was many soba shops from the various prefectures, too.

and Matsumoto people eat other prefecture's soba.

To eat the most famous shop's soba, you have to line 2 hours!

Honestly, I can't understand why the festival is held on Oct?

Because! Matsumoto soba havest season starts fast of Nov... 

This means we eat local soba that made by almost one year old soba powder.

NOT NEW SOBA POWDER AT ALL!

Only Hokkaido has been started soba havest seson and most of shops use it this time.

It's not a real Matsumoto soba festival, isn't it???

I wanna say 'The eat all old Matsumoto soba festival' instead.

Anyway, I had a great eating autum day today.

 

 

As a dessert, I had an apple Gelati with apple skins. It's great, the taste was really really apple.

What is it？Can you guess ？

 

It's a Japanese plum 　It's 3 times bigger than normal one.

and they smell very very sweet

 

 

I started to make 'Umeboshi' today

 

 

1kg plum and 180g salt.

I used 200g salt last year and umeboshi was a bit salty, so I reduced salt this time.

 

 

Hehehe, too much Umeboshi??? 

 

I'll keep it a couple of week then go to next stage! 

 

 

I've still 2.5kg Ume....

I should buy another pot :P

st of Jan, Phoenix asked me to marry him 
and we started happy happy new year

We went to Yohashira shrine in Nawate Street together.

 

 

there are  wonderful taiyaki shops on Nawate Street 

This one is called 'Yazawa taiyaki ya':

 

 

The shop had beautiful 'cream cheese' taiyaki!
That's the BEST

Actually, it's good to wait till the taiyaki gets bit cold and the cheese is hard so
you can taste thick cream cheese flavour much more. 

 

Of course other taiyaki's are nice too  

The second shop is 'Taiyaki ya Hurusato' and

 

 

'sweet beans taiyaki' is their BEST!
Not tooooo sweet and you can taste real azuki flavour

finally we ( I ) felt hungry. We sat down at a table in a family restaurant

and enjoyed our high calorie meals very much

Coz I am a perfectionist 
I made dried persimmons again

 

I used oval shape persimmons.

I peeled their skin off this morning
It was ONLY  persimmons.
HARRRRRRRRD JOB

 

I will made 30 soft dried ones, 10 hard dried one and

5 dried black ones. 
But I don't know how to make black one, just keep dring for ever  >

Ahhh, I can't stop making dried persimmons < someone stop meeeeeeeee!

It's a lovely warm  Saturday

While I was having a coffee at a balcony,

I found that thousand of persimmons grew in many houses gardens,

and nobody harvests persimmons

 

Why! It's a waste  < bull shit!

I am a CITY LADY? who I grew in Tokyo and

I always bought the fruits at shops...

 

sooooooooo, there is a new law that

someone who never harvest the fruits should give me free persimmons

I wanna climb treeeeeeeeees for persimmons

Anyway I BOUGHT persimmons at a supermarket and

I tried to make dried persimmons

 

 

I peeled persimmons and tied up them with hemp strings,
and then I put them into a boiling water  for killing germs.

 

Last, I hanged up them in the good place of the ventilation.

 

 

Must never expose them with snow in the rain

 

 

Well, I always mind it about an environmental problem so

I never waste the peel of a persimmons.

I put them in the sun to dry them.

 

They are used for adding sweetness into pickled radishes.

I haven't made it before tho...

 

Can eat them for New Year 

One point advice,

You had better peel skin thick 

because green mold grows from the place where skin is left

 

Weeellllll, I made dried persimmon last week

This persimmon is 7days old.

 

 

I'll press the outside for making softness tomorrow.

 

 

Where I can hang washing clothes?

I am making umeboshi (Japanese plum) the sun airing for 3 days

 

 

The umeboshi with leaf of the perilla which I pickled for one month.

 

Can't wait to eat! It'll be great umeboshi

On Sat, I went to Niigata (north of Japan)  to drive  for turbans shells and abalones with friends.
But. waves and swirl were very rough  coz of low pressure....

 

The swirl was terrible! It made me lose my sense of direction when diving for the turban shells.

and Turban shells moves in deep place coz of big waves and swirl...

Where are my yummy sheeeeeells!> 
moreover, visibility was afwul too so we couldn't find any abalones....

We couldn't get enough food for that night's BBQ < TERRIBLE!

 

and my mates were extremely slack.
only I put in a huge effort  and got more than 20 turban shells!

2 turban shells that I got were ESPECIALLY HUUUUGE

I was bloody sure they were heavenly yummy
I was really really looking forward to eating them.

 

We stopped at fisherman's fresh fish shop on the way home and

bought some fish and shrimps for our beautiful BBQ
I really couldn't wait to enjoy our lovely BBQ 

 

While we prepared the BBQ some kid came along
As soon as the kid saw the turban shells unbelivably he screamed ' I want it for my pet!!!!!'

'F☆cking shut up your mouth otherwise I'll punch it for you! Fu☆k off right noooooooooow!!!'
I really wanted to say it to him.

My mates were really uncomfortable and finally last one said

'Okay, you can take SMALL 2 shells'  
While the idiot kid chose the ones he wanted, his mum came along and said,
'No, you can't have them! it's a dinner time, sweety','Leave them now and come home.' She said it many times.
But the kid said 'No, me wanty!'
Finally the mum just said, 'Oh, thank you everyone for letting him have the shells'

She looked extremely HAPPY to get turban shells too 

 mins later,
The bloody kid   came back again!
He finished his dinner already?! Very suspicious....
and! fuckn crazy he brought a bucket  this time!

He suddenly put all the other turban shells in his bucket boldly without saying nothing!
It was kind of brave

He took 2 more turban shells without even asking!

Moreover the shells he took were the Hugest ones
those were MY huge ones, man!  
I got them with MY effort in the rough waves and sickening swirl

 

 

I was really really looking forward to tasting them 
and the fu☆kin kid stole them! I was soooooo mad > 

I was sure when the kid first came home his parenst said to him
'Sweety, there are 4 people in our family, why didn't you get 4 turban shells?

Go and get the 2 big ones and put them in the bucket! Go'
I am 100% sure about it! Gaaaaaaaaa

Beautiful Japan is ruined by such a rude family
Doesn't matter! Just give back my huge yummy turban shells

Well, I had LEE brand instant curry and it's bloody hot!
How hot?   times hotter than normal hot curry.
Ummm
Let me think.... hard to explain actually.
I think that LEE curry is good for losing weight

 

 

 coz.... I lose my apetite after eating it and feel full.

Last Fri, I had the curry with an optional hot oil that makes it  times hotter.

The curry hasn't digested yet. Poor Jinko

 

 

For 3 days my stomach is full

 

I ate a soft rice cake even though I wasn't hungry
coz my mouth said 'I wanna eat something'

now my stomach feels very heavy again

Actually,  I've had the curry twice before and felt bloated then as well
but I never expected it was because of the curry. hehehe
Ummm I'll have one more LEE curry.....

 week passed since I put strawberries and lemons and grapefruits into white liquor. 

Fruits juice almost melt into the liquor

I was so surprised  that Jam is red!

Strawberries were almost white coz red colour melt into white liquor.

 

The taste is excellent.

It's not normal jam. You can taste a bit of sake with strawberry jam.

Note
Strawberry wine, I should take strawberries out after months and filter the wine. 
It also is good  to take strawberries out next day and make a strawberry jam.

take other fruits out after  months.
Ahhhhh, I can't wait to have them!

This morning, I got a parcel from my parents

 

Oranges which grew in a small garden of parents

Looked bit sour  but they were not
They were very sweet sour taste and juicy.

Just Lovely  

 

Another stuff, My mum backed a pound cake and sent it to me.

The left one have orange peels and the right one has grape peels.

 

It was absolutely beautiful.

I picked up some ginkgo yesterday

There is female ginkgo tree in front of my apartment.
Ummmm there is no male gingko tree around here
but the female tree always has a lot of nuts

Gingko nuts are absolutely stinky, disgusting smell  .

It definitely can kill human.

I peeled smelly yellow soft skins and took seeds.

WOW Seeds are sooooooo BIG  !
Looks brilliant!

(After parching seeds, take out a inside of seed, there is a soft green fruit and it's very delicious!)

The day bofore yesterday, my parents send persimmons and kiwis to me.
These fruits grew in their small garden  .

 

Kiwis are still hard so they are with s to get soft.

The persimmons are still sour and puckery

so sprinkled distilled spirits  around then put them in a  to make them sweet.

I took a photo of sweet persimmons.
